The Time Tunnel: Chapter 2 – “Where no Aliens Dare!” - Part 2

The standing spacetime wave in the tunnel seems to be the original 1968 transfer attempt by the tunnel to retrieve Doug and Tony and this wave has been bouncing back and forth within the tunnel for almost 50 years.

Now, there is no time to analyze the wave probe of 1968 as the opportunity is good for a full team transfer back to 1968 the night before the blast.  The lock is nearly at 100 percent and if they wait the lock could be lost or become unstable.  So the countdown continues.

A scientist sitting at a control station says, “This wave is only the remnant of the time transfer…a spacetime vortex closed on both ends if you will.  It should dissipate and disappear completely as energy levels build in the tunnel for the transfer.

As the countdown continues 29, 28, 27 a large swell sound and a crackling is heard deep within the tunnel.  Time tunnel staff is calling out systems that are a go.  “Guidance? …Go, Tracking?  …Go” etc…  The insertion team begins walking into the tunnel with Captain Stillwell taking point ... 10, 9, 8, 7 the sounds in the tunnel begin to swell even louder.   Then in a moment, the team vanishes.  They begin tumbling through time which sets up an opening or wormhole in local spacetime.   This event triggers the time dilation trap the aliens had put in place around the Earth after the 1943 USS Eldridge experiment which works as a kind of sensor that detects artificial changes in local spacetime.  This is the same trap that alerted the aliens in 1968.  The difference now is the aliens are ready and waiting nearby due to the ripples in time event that has occurred before the current time transfer which touched the time dilation sensor alerting the aliens to the impending travel in time by the Earthlings.  A small signal event before the transfer event!  Like a volcano produces earthquakes before it erupts time travel events are preceded by space time disturbances.
