The Time Tunnel: Chapter 2 – “Where no Aliens Dare!” - Part 4

Meanwhile, the marines transfer onto the alien ship and arrive in complete chaos.   Of the team of 8, one missed the ship completely tumbling off into space.  Another marine tumbles for less than a second and materializes half in the wall of the space craft and dies instantly.  His helmet pops off as he stops within the wall and his face goes grey and his head shrinks to the size of a baseball all in about 2 skull crushing seconds with a green steam or green visible gas oozing out of his mouth, nose and ears.  It’s a hideous sight!  The interior of the spacecraft is like nothing ever seen on Earth.   The walls, floor and ceiling are like one large semitransparent convex silver mirror.  It’s like they are inside a silver glass sphere.  The team can slightly see through the wall of the craft.  They see their other fellow marine tumbling away in space.  Unfortunately, they have no way to help him.  The lighting inside the craft is dim and there is no breathable atmosphere, no instruments, no control panels, no chairs …nothing.  Just then a wobbling low sound is heard that vibrates the mirror walls making them shimmer like a speaker but slower more like a sheet hanging outside in the wind.

Nothing is familiar and all electronic communications don’t work.  The team have to look at each other through their visors and hand signal and lip read to communicate.   Major Pol pushes his team together where everyone’s helmet is touching.  “Can you hear me?” asks Pol.  He can be heard faintly like he has a tin can over his mouth.  “Here’s what we are going to do.  We are going to set the explosives and fix the timers for 10 minutes.  That should shut this sonofabitch down! “   The tunnel is set to retrieve the team in 5 minutes after transfer.

In front of them just then the wall started coming toward them like the point of a cone.   The team came apart and all of them looked at the mirror cone.  And from the wall, kind of out of the wall, appeared a thing.  The team didn’t know if it was alive or machine…it appeared to be both and neither.
